We’re a little giddy about the fact that we have the opportunity to wish Happy St. Patrick’s Day to a bunch of Irish people all at once, so Happy St. Paddy’s Day to our Irish friends! And of course to everyone else since we all have Ireland in our hearts if we’re hanging out here, right? We hope it’s been a fine one so far.
This week’s big thanks goes out to Sara and Laura, you gals rule! Ok, so we’re super excited this week to share with you one of the most amazing gigs we’ve seen (not in person that is)- the lads’ performance at the InterCeltic Festival in August of 2002. Highly recommended for your next spare hour (but we’ve divided it by song to make for easier viewing).
We’re also honored to now have the documentary It’s Just A Band as an important part of our Frames archive here. It’s Just A Band is a documentary about The Frames that was made by Dutch filmmakers Helmut Boeijen, Tim Klok and Menno van den Berg in 2005. The film is also available to watch at www.theframes.ie.
In addition to the great adds above, we’ve also got:
Press:

Thanks and hello again to all the new folks checking out the site each day! We hope you’re enjoying looking at it as much as we enjoy making it.
We’ve been excited to hear all the good reports out of Dublin about the Glen & Liam (and, and…) gigs from Whelan’s on Monday and Tuesday night. Very cool! As part of this week’s update we’ve made a page for those gigs with the details we’ve been able to cull from various sources.
More updates from this past week include:
– 4 songs from a Marlay Park gig from 2004 (the Hollocaine rap!)
– a very nice tribute to For The Birds written by Ian Whitty for the Noise blog
– The Commitments performing Mustang Sally and Chain of Fools (incl short interview bit of Glen) on The Late, Late Show on RTE
– video by Patrick Glennon of Say It To Me Now from Glen’s recent City Winery gig in NYC
– video by the Vibe for Philo folks of Glen doing Thin Lizzy’s Jailbreak with the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils in January
– a new addition to Your Stories – a blog post about seeing The Frames for the first time in Philly in 2003
– a ticket scan from the Avalon gig in LA from 30 Nov 2010
– lastly, we put all of the Zoran Orlic photos we used on the homepage photo slideshow in January and February into the Photography section, so if you missed those the first time around you can see them there
Special thanks this week to Jackie, Patrick, Linda, Pamela, Heather and various folks on the Frames message board! : )
Until next time….
Hi hi hi & welcome to all the new eyeballs that have checked out the site in the last couple of days since Glen’s very kind tweet on Friday! We hope you come around often, there certainly is a lot to look at and we strive to add at least a few new things every week. We usually post a list of all the new additions every Thursday night (ish) so if you follow along on Twitter or Facebook you’ll be alerted to when that happens.
Here’s a little something to make your Monday more awesome. Just added 4 really fun songs from a 2004 festival gig at Marlay Park in Dublin- Hollocaine, Perfect Opening Line, Billie Jean & Where Is My Mind. Go have a listen and to anyone going to see Glen (and Graham & Joe!) tonight at Whelan’s, have a great time!
Some fun adds this past week and special thanks to Laura, Carol, Pavel, Courtney & Ivi!
You have to see these fantastic old photos from 1 July 2001 in Poprad, Slovakia
Check out a few lovely photos added to the 8 Dec. 2010 London gig
We’ve made God Bless Mom & Star Star from a 2003 Fine Line Cafe gig available on the site. This recording is great for Joe fans as his vocals are a little more audible than usual!
Listen to Underglass from Lollapalooza 2006 here, ’twas a really fun show (as evidenced by awesome video of God Bless Mom get down with Beatle Bob)!
