Weekly Update // Mar. 3

March 3, 2011

Some fun adds this past week and special thanks to Laura, Carol, Pavel, Courtney & Ivi!

You have to see these fantastic old photos from 1 July 2001 in Poprad, Slovakia
Check out a few lovely photos added to the 8 Dec. 2010 London gig

We’ve made God Bless Mom & Star Star from a 2003 Fine Line Cafe gig available on the site. This recording is great for Joe fans as his vocals are a little more audible than usual!

Listen Underglass from Lollapalooza 2006 here, ’twas a really fun show (as evidenced by awesome video of God Bless Mom get down with Beatle Bob)!

5 new pieces in Press:
3 March 2005 – Rob shares his “Celebrity Spins” with Now Magazine in Toronto
21 March 2005 – Interview with Colm at Chicago Inner View by Janine Schaults (from Behind The Glass)
29 April 2005 – a fantastic interview with Glen in the Independent (UK) by Alexia Loundras
5 March 2008 – Hot Press cover interview by Peter Murphy with Glen & Mar after winning their Oscar (scanned pages, great piece!)
Nov 2010 – How The Frames Are A Lot Like Sharks at The Ruckus

Lastly, we’ve added a few super cool posters throughout the site:
2004 Finally single release
12 Feb 1999 Vicar Street gig
2 April 2001 For The Birds release
November 2001 Vicar Street gig series

That’s all for now friends. We’re looking forward to all the good stuff that may come our way this month! Have a great one…xo

Weekly Update // 23 Feb.

February 23, 2011

Breaking free of the Thursday update format! We’ve added just a few things recently, so behold…

If you are a newer fan you might not know about this gem of a piece from 2003. TodayFM radio did an almost 2 hour documentary called Revelations: The Story of the Frames. It’s about just what it says there and aired the same week as Set List was released. This is a must listen if you haven’t heard it before. You can stream it on the site or just go ahead and download all of the parts.

In addition this week:
A link to a fantastic interview with Glen after he joined Levon Helm at the most recent Midnight Ramble on 12 February.

A link to a piece/interview with The Independent (UK) from April 2005.

Lastly, we’ve added several new videos of songs already posted to the 7 December 2010 Brussels gig (Finally, Happy, Lay Me Down, Keepsake, Rent Day Blues, Pavement Tune, Star Star – Hotellounge, Revelate, Your Face, Santa Maria). Unfortunately the audio is frequently muffled/distorted, but they were shot from the front row, so if you wanted to be up front in Brussels but couldn’t quite get there, here ya go!

Special thanks to Sara & Laura this week and, as always, if you have anything Frames related to share, please do so! If you take part in online shenanigans, give us a follow at Facebook and Twitter so we can bug you over there too.

Weekly Update

January 20, 2011

Hi all!
We’re happy to note that it’s already our 1 month birthday and we have yet another mega update for you! Before the list of handy links to the new goodies, we have an extra special update to mention first. If you haven’t heard of or seen Zoran Orlic and his grand book about The Frames, now’s your chance! Zoran has graciously shared select photos and excerpts from his 2006 ode to our favorite band. We are honored and super stoked to bring these gorgeous photos to you, but these are just a part of what is in the book. So many great stories and photos, it’s a must have for any Frames fan, especially those of you who spend a lot of time on this site. We’ve also included a couple of audio clips from the book signing at Gallery Number One in Dublin (comments from Glen and a performance of The Dancer). So go check it out and please let us or Zoran know what you think! In addition to the new section, we are also now featuring some of Zoran’s photos on the homepage!

Now on to the other updates…

We’ve added another new section called Television to keep up with all the lads’ tv performances and interviews (this includes any internet channels/media that don’t fit into the Print section). So far we have about 10 videos/links to videos there (including a 2007 Joe interview and a 2008 piece on Colm from Imeall)…please send more! We love these.

A few new dates under 2011 including, of course, The Frames’ 30 March performance of For The Birds at Vicar Street, Glen performing on 18 March at Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival and The Swell Season at Coachella on 16 April! FYI- Rob will be performing with Colm at his Australian dates at the end of the month.
