Biography
In 2006 Glen and Czech musician Marketa Irglova released an album called The Swell Season. Following that album, they starred in a highly acclaimed independent film together called Once, written and directed by former Frames bassist and vocalist John Carney. The single from the Once Soundtrack, Falling Slowly, earned the duo an Academy Award in 2008 after the film was released worldwide in 2007.
During 2007, around the release of the film, Glen & Marketa renamed themselves after their original album title while adding the whole of The Frames to fill out their band. When not performing as a duo, the band toured the world as The Swell Season and released an album called Strict Joy in 2009. The Swell Season went on hiatus as of October 2010.
