11 June 2011 // Cork, IE // Live at The Marquee

Support: Favourite Sons

Main Set: People Get Ready, Seven Day Mile, Fake, Headlong, God Bless Mom, Stars are Underground, What Happens When the Heart Just Stops – Caravan (Van Morrison), Finally, Rent Day Blues, Pavement Tune, Star Star, Revelate

Encore: Song of Good Hope, Limerick Town (with John Hegarty), Lay Me Down, Heyday (Mic Christopher), Speed to My Side (Rollerskate Skinny), Red Chord – Here Comes The Night (Van Morrison) – The Parting Glass (Traditional)

Comments: Jake Clemons on sax and Bill Blackmore on trumpet play during ‘Caravan’ and Glen name checks what other musicians/music to “turn up”, “turn Phillip King up…turn John Hegarty up” and after Jake’s solo, Glen ends the song by saying “turn Jake Clemons up”.  Graham’s father Des Hopkins is celebrating his 70th birthday and he joins the lads at the end of ‘Star Star’, performing a brilliant drum solo. There’s an extended instrumental ending to ‘Lay Me Down’ during which Glen reads the poem ‘The Given Note’ by Seamus Heaney. Jake Clemons and Favourite Sons join The Frames for ‘Speed to My Side’.
